I so do love Danny Elfman music and to hear him singing Jack the pumpkin king song, awesome.
One movie that is a must watch for Halloween is A Nightmare Before Christmas. A friend of mine was lucky enough to travel to L.A. recently to see a symphony perform Tim Burton film music. Danny Elfman, a genius-at-large, made an appearance to perform some of the songs from A Nightmare Before Christmas. While I don’t have a video of that performance, here he is performing in London at a similar engagement. So amazing!

Having a weekend for myself and what better way to celebrate than a RoboCop marathon, had almost forgot how damn good the first movie was and how much I dislike the third one.
RoboCop’s first Directive, “Serve the Public Trust,” was inspired by a fortune cookie.
The special-effects were generated with an Commodore Amiga computer.
Ironically, 27 years later Detroit did actually file for bankruptcy.
Realizing that the film was running behind schedule and over budget, director Paul Verhoeven and producer Jon Davison purposely didn’t film one crucial scene: Officer Murphy’s death. When production wrapped, they went back to Los Angeles and ‘grimly’ informed the execs that Murphy’s death hadn’t been filmed. So the execs gave them more money and they filmed the scene in a warehouse in Los Angeles.
The standard Copyright notice at the end of RoboCop includes a warning that “This motion picture is protected under the laws of the United States and other countries and its unauthorized duplication, distribution or exhibition may result in civil liability and criminal prosecution by enforcement droids.
