Guestblog: Obit of the day
Found this yesterday while getting sidetracked tumbling 🙂 but its brilliant and really interesting if you like historic information about both celebrities and normal average people.
Obit of the Day
Looking at the unique lives that have shuffled off this mortal coil. OOTD is the most popular obituary blog on Tumblr.
This is Tikker. It’s “the wristwatch that counts down your life.” A Kickstarter project created by Rebecca DeRosa, owners will fill out a questionnaire and based on your current age, health, and other relevant pieces of personal information you are given your estimated time left on Earth.
Tikker’s goal is to remind the user of how much time they have left and “to make the most of it, AND TO BE HAPPY!” As of October 10, 2013 the Kickstarter has surpassed its goal of $25,000 and has nearly 1000 backers.
Oh, “and it also tells time.”
Guestblog: Gorgeous company
Last day of the guestblogs and what a great way of finishing the day than with Geoffs great site Gorgeous Company. Great photos and quotes to uplift your mind and soul.
In his own words:
This is the place where I can post stuff I’ve written, thoughts, images & quotes; things that have touched my heart, caught my eye, held my attention or have left my mind wandering while I contemplate life.I’m a passionate romantic who loves all things sensual. This means that now and then, not everything I post will be sweet, innocent or G-rated. There will be times when I find I’m ‘in a mood’ and during those times, my postings will be a bit on the naughty or erotic side. If that offends you, you’ve been warned. If you’re under 18, time to leave.
Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable; let’s get to know one another.

Guestblog: Hasty words
Poetry, poems and real life stories, always enjoyable and throughtful posts.
I present: Hasty words
In her own words:
I am just a girl trying to create rainbows in a world where my mind is held prisoner! I write a lot in order to gain perspective, purge my soul, retain my memories, and to put into words what my tears and laughter are trying to say! I don’t like to think about the rules of writing etiquette when I write. I free flow my thoughts and write them however they come. Many times they are complete nonsense but the world is full of nonsense. I write about my family, my friends, strangers, and myself. Many times I put myself into another person’s shoes in order to gain perspective about a situation or event.
Her final role![]() Phantom spasms span her being Rendering her anxious and awake She can’t sleep, for days it seemed An endless, wordless movie reel spins A crazy off course carousel in her head Her inner voice screams to be heard Her friend’s voices loud and concerned What is wrong with you silly girl? This movies is yours, you are the lead You wrote the script the director yells Your messing it all up the costars moan Writing too many unfinished stories The credits at the end need to be cut The critics are complaining the star Well, she is schizophrenic and can’t deal Her delusions and paranoia are not real She decides they are right as she sits Erasing the reflection in the mirror The ending to this story ends here Resigning her authorship, she stands The mirror breaks, shards drip As she steps into her final role, the end |
I have been trying to write this blog the last few days but I kept getting distracted. I am convinced I am attracted to all forms of distraction. I have a to do list that keeps getting longer, and goals that inevitably keep getting pushed further and further into the future. In talking to my best friend, who is currently in college with homework coming out his ears and a part time job, it was easy for me to see the distractions in his life. Well…..it was easy for me to see what distracted him but what about what distracts me? Are distractions distracting me? I know I have always been fairly oblivious to my surroundings but distractions are different. Not all distractions are bad and sometimes they are necessary and very much needed, however; uncontrolled, unnoticed distractions keep us from reaching our full potential! I decided to make hunting for distractions a priority. At first they were hard to find because they had creeped into my daily routine. They were sneaky and easy to justify in the beginning. Eventually, I could see distraction in nearly everything around me….sitting there crouching waiting to pounce on any attention I might give. … Read more |
It wasn’t love
Seeing you happy without me is hard It breaks my heart every time I hear your name I shed a tear every time I hear your laugh When you compliment others I die a thousand deaths I thought I loved you but I can see now I never did Because if I loved you I would delight in your happiness Instead of tears of sadness I would be shedding tears of gladness |

The Clink of Glasses by Renee Heath
Busy Friday night at the local pub. The patrons are packed in like sardines. Music fills the room, but all that can be discerned by the lovers is the bass beat. There’s conversation, the clink of glasses, and laughter. Tendrils of smoke rise from various locations in the bar. Maggie takes a drag on her smoke and the tip glows a brilliant red. She holds it to Ian’s lips, he takes a pull and blows the smoke above her head. Each take a sip of their drink. Vodka and tonics on a hot summer night. They feel so lucky to have gotten a corner booth.
They snuggle in close and finish their cigarette. Sip their ice cold beverages. Feel the gentle buzz of the alcohol. A blush comes to Maggie’s cheeks as Ian lazily kisses her neck.
“Woman, I could take you right here,” he whispers, “Do you think anyone would know?”
She turns and smiles slyly. “Why don’t you try it and see?”
Ian places his hand on her knee and lets it travel up her thigh. She hikes up her skirt.
“You are a devil, my love. A red-headed devil.”
His hand is underneath her skirt and he finds she doesn’t have on panties. He touches her with no restrictions. Or fear. He is so happy. Maggie touches Ian through his jeans, then unzips them. She traces his rigid cock through the fabric of his boxer briefs. Ian leans his head back and groans. Maggie looks around to see if anyone notices. No need to worry though, it’s so loud in the pub that no one can hear him. She keeps touching. Discovering. He slides two fingers in between her petals. She is wet, open, and ready.
Ian’s thumb finds her clit. Works it in a circular motion. Maggie pushes her lower body into his hand. She wants to feel, all of him. Her hand goes to her mouth to stifle her moans. Her body rocks back and forth. She leans forward and kisses his lips. Their tongues meet and she swears she sees stars. When she begins to ride the crest of her orgasm, she grabs a hold of his shirt. Her cry of pleasure fills his mouth. Ian grins and sucks her tongue.
“Cum for me baby. Cum.”
“I am. Don’t you dare stop those fingers of yours. Don’t you dare.”
He moves them faster and she explodes everywhere. It’s all she can do to keep from screaming. His hands are so gentle but knowing. Her nectar is all over his fingers. He withdraws his hand and places the tips of them to his lips. He sucks the sweetness of her. Then places the fingers in her mouth. They share her taste. The intimacy of the act excites him even more.
Please, cum inside of me. Empty yourself into me.
Maggie reaches down to feel Ian’s hand. To touch him. She caresses his balls and finds that they are tightening up. He pushes as hard as he can into her. Moving faster he begins to moan. Maggie looks around, they are still being completely ignored by the crowd. He pulls her against him and his body stills. The only thing she feels is the twitching of his cock inside of her. He fills her. Why she likes it so much, she has no idea.
As Ian’s dick softens and falls out of her, they catch their breath. Maggie doesn’t want to move. She wants to stay where they are. Even in the middle of a crowded bar she wants to bask in the afterglow. She shifts forward and puts his underwear back in place. Then turns sideways and lowers her skirt. She continues to sit on his lap. Leans forward and grabs his drink for him. He tastes it. It’s warm and wet. Like Maggie. But he drinks it anyway. With her still on his lap, he waves over a waitress and orders them another round. As she walks away, Maggie leans her head on Ian’s chest. She catches the aroma of their coupling. He brushes her forehead with a gentle kiss.
“I love you girl.”
“Love you too baby.”
Their next round of drinks are delivered. They clink glasses in a silent toast and drink in the coolness of the vodka with lime and tonic.

You are a constant source of inspiration: over the flow of time, you talk to me, your experience, your style, your beauty.
There is this light in the depth of darkness, that of all I don’t know about you, yet, this shining intimate part of you, so delicate, eternal, I seek to penetrate, through writing, and discovering the depth of you.
For you are alive for me, more than some living…

Guestblog: IPC (Isaacs Picture Conclusions)
Another movie blog for you to visit, IPC has an nice and honest feel to his reviews, I trust him almost all the times (opinions are always different).
In his own words:
A few years ago I went to see the new Star Trek. The next Monday I came in to work and was instant messaging my friend on our new work-deployed instant message system (no profanities, etc) and he asked how I liked the movie. I told him it was so good he needed to go see it immediately and dress real nice, including wearing a top hat and maybe even a monocle. “In fact” I said, “It’s so good you need to wear four top hats.”Later I went to see Piranha 3D and we wanted to talk about it but, if you’ve seen it, the subject matter is not exactly work friendly so I set up a website on iWeb and we railed on shitty movies and talked a lot about boobs. Eventually iWeb went away so I migrated over to WordPress and here we are today.

NUDE NUNS WITH BIG GUNS (2010) TWO TOP HATS
Before we get too excited, one way or another, about this movie based on its title, let me post that this isn’t anywhere nearly as taboo as the risque premise presented to us. Yes there are a lot of semi-attractive, fully naked women in this, some weenuses also get some screen time and there’s lots of killing with CGI blood, but there’s only one “nun” who has any guns and they are just pistols, with the exception of some sort of semi automatic weapon she has at the end. This could be more aptly called, “The Revenge of the Nun Who Sheds Her Outfit Frequently” but I suppose that wouldn’t be as alluring to fans of the Nunsploitation genre, now would it? |
A QUICKIE WITH MRS. THE IPC: DJANGO UNCHAINED
This new segment is to try and prove to people that I don’t only watch horseshit movies and that I’m not totally insane. LOL This is how the conversation went after we finished it: ME: WOW. That was totally so much better than I thought it was going to be. MRS. THE IPC: Like totes? ME: Totes. I thought it was going to be a pretentious, high brow, mother fucker from looking at the trailers. MRS. THE IPC: Are you going to write about it? ME: Nah – a lot of other people have and they’ve done much better jobs than I could. I wouldn’t have anything worthwhile to add. MRS. THE IPC: What would you give it? ME: Totally a five. I loved it!! Samuel L Jackson was a fucking crack up every second he was on screen. MRS. THE IPC: HA HA HA!! Yes he was!! I loved Jamie Foxx’s ” Blue Boy” outifit. ME: That was hilarious. We should get one of those for Chris FILMHIPSTER for Christmas!! MRS. THE IPC: I’m sure his wife would love that! ME: Totes! ~ END ~ |

ZOMBIE STRIPPERS (2008) – THREE TOP HATS Since there hasn’t been anything new to get out and watch, I pulled a random movie from our Ottoman (that is filled with DVDs) and took it in over the week. At first I wasn’t going to give this any Top Hats and wait for the viewer to read, watch and comment, but then I figured that’s not the way I do things, so I gave it the median range score and will do two reviews, hopefully short ones, one good and one bad. I mean, in the end, I say to you “I liked this movie”, but it is so filled with problems that it is hard to tell if they did them on purpose or if they cared so less that it didn’t make any difference and they just went with it to finish it up and try and make a “cult classic”. Then again, I didn’t want to watch it again with the director’s commentary to get his thoughts (because twice is enough), so I can’t be the ultimate judge of this thing, so, here we go. AND – to note – this is a movie called ZOMBIE STRIPPERS so – you’re expectations have to be set accordingly. == Read the review here… |

Ifyou didn’t catch on yet, I’ve just mentioned some of her films (All Caps) she’s appeared in or will headline pretty soon. Have you visited the NICOLE KRUEX OFFICIAL SITE yet?? I’mblown away by how gorgeous she looks in cosplay, albeit a more morbid version and I seriously hope her Anime-Horror mashup “Harajaku Homicide” makes it to screens everywhere. Withtitles such ‘Scream Queen Of The Month’ and ‘Fright Girl Of The Month’, NICOLE rightly belongs in the horror genre as a visual feast we can’t stop craving. Click here for more… |
LA Shorts Fest 2013 Spotlight: Blonde Bombshell Jessica Mathews
Being beautiful and brainy is a heady combo which are traits the multi-talented JESSICA MATHEWS possesses in opulence. For that very fact, I’ve actually included the bikini photo of her (above) for good measure…:) Affirmation of the allure of an actress is always a good thing and JESSICA does indeed have the semblance of a temptress. She does indeed play one in the short film “The Big Meet” that tells of a screenwriter who stumbles upon the killer pitch. As Morgan, she’s of two women who seduce the screenwriter into committing a grisly murder which serves as the inspiration for his story. JESSICA is also Producer extraordinaire in this gem of a crime thriller that has enough elements of the dark comedy we so often get hooked on. She’s been called a Creative Visionary and people who have worked with her are constantly showering her with compliments. I’ve been longing to give praise to her for the longest time and on Sep 12, the day The LA Shorts Fest comes to a close is an opportune moment to feature such a remarkable personality.
Guestblog: Written in blood
Been a lover of horror movies since I first saw Frankenstein on the small screen, my first subscription of a magazine was Fangoria, a superb horror mag with all the news about what was happening in the horror genre.
Nowadays if I need some reviews or hints on what to watch, I go to the web and Written in Blood blog was an great choice when I first stumbled upon it, great reviews and interviews. So if you fancy yourself a little blood and chills, go here and enjoy.
In his own words:
As of July 31, 2011 Written in Blood will be just that. It will no longer carry the subtitle ‘A Horror Fan’s Random Ramblings’. This will reflect that I intend to write solely about horror. I am sure there were those of you who got a kick out of my Random Ramblings posts and the one about sending away for new breasts. If you did, I’m glad; but looking back I don’t find them to be in tune with the original idea I had for this blog. Written in Blood is my love letter to horror films. That is why I am constantly trying to improve my writing and to find the right words in the right sequence. Stephen King once said of the novelist Thomas Harris (The Silence of the Lambs) that writing is like ”writhing on the floor in agonies of frustration”, because, for Harris, “the very act of writing is a kind of torment”. I don’t find the act of writing to be a torment, but I understand what King means. Like Harris, I want to put together the right letters to form the right words, sentences and paragraphs to get my point across to my audience. Am I making sense?

Guestblog: Head In A Vice
You want great reviews, look no further, Tyson at Head in a vice is the site for you. Don’t forget to check out his Desert Island Films (especially number 28 which is my desert island list) or his De Niro projekt.
In his own words:
My name is Tyson Carter and I’m from the United Kingdom. The reason I started this blog is likely to be the same reason why most people start a blog – to share an opinion. I have been obsessed and fascinated by films ever since as a young boy I walked in on this exact movie scene playing on our TV. I’m sure I had sat through a whole host of kids films prior to this moment, but as soon as I saw Casino I felt different, almost as if my little mind started to realize that there was this new world of films out there that wasn’t aimed at children, and I began my quest to see as many of them as I could. Many years later I decided to try and share my feelings and thoughts on the films I had seen in an effort to vent my opinion, and hopefully meet some like-minded people along the way. I set up my own site in July 2012, and I try to offer reviews on some of the more obscure horror and violent films in the attempt of unearthing some hidden gems for people.
I deliberated over my blog name for ages trying to think of something cool, catchy and different, yet in the end I decided I may as well go for the one thing that started my love affair for films, and that’s how ‘Head In A Vice‘ was born.

On December 8, 1980, Mark David Chapman shocked the world by murdering 40-year old musician and activist, John Lennon, outside The Dakota, his New York apartment building. Since I am a little too young to have witnessed The Beatles in their prime and the aftermath, I had to do a little research before and after I watched Chapter 27. I actually saw it years ago but really felt I was missing a lot of the references to the 1951 novel Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger which is mentioned throughout the film and actually what the title refers to. I was determined to watch it again at some point and have finally got round to it. I finished Catcher in the Rye a few months ago and having now seen the film again it does make a lot more sense. |
Reservoir Dogs (1992) Tarantino’s style can be seen immediately in the opening scene, and it showcases what most people associate Tarantino with; dialogue. The conversations his characters have in all his movies, I mean, you can tell a Tarantino film just by tuning in to a conversation. The smallest, most subtle things take on so much meaning, and for me no one writes like this man. I didn’t see the film on its release (as I was 10 years old) but I can imagine people watching it, wondering who the hell this Quentin Tarantino guy was, writing, directing and acting in his debut movie. Then the opening scene kicks in and we are listening to some guys talking about random things like tipping and the subtext of Madonna’s Like a Virgin song. It just holds and demands your attention, then the guys leave, the suave crew walking out of the diner in slow motion, set to the George Baker Selection’s super cool Little Green Bag. Wow. You’re just hooked, and here we are over 20 years later, the effect has not diminished at all. |
Casino (1995) I thought I should write about the first movie I ever saw that really grabbed hold of me and demanded my attention. Sure, I had seen plenty of kids movies before this, but the day I accidentally walked in on Casino changed the way I viewed films and gave me an appreciation for something that I can’t imagine ever losing. For anyone who hasn’t read my About Me page, the name for my blog came from the scene in which Joe Pesci’s character ‘Nicky’ decides the best way to get information from someone is to put their head in a vice. I walked in one this exact scene and here I am many years later writing a blog named after it. As for the actual film, Casino is a 1995 crime drama film directed by Martin Scorsese. It is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Nicholas Pileggi, who also co-wrote the screenplay for the film with Scorsese. The two previously collaborated on the 1990 film Goodfellas. Casino is about a gambling prodigy called Sam (Ace) Rothstein, played to perfection by De Niro, who supervised a thriving hotel casino in its glory days. He is more of a number-cruncher than the swaggering mobster he portrayed in Goodfellas. So Ace depended on the protection of his vicious best friend, Nicky Santoro, superbly portrayed by Joe Pesci.
