Having a weekend for myself and what better way to celebrate than a RoboCop marathon, had almost forgot how damn good the first movie was and how much I dislike the third one.
RoboCop’s first Directive, “Serve the Public Trust,” was inspired by a fortune cookie.
The special-effects were generated with an Commodore Amiga computer.
Ironically, 27 years later Detroit did actually file for bankruptcy.
Realizing that the film was running behind schedule and over budget, director Paul Verhoeven and producer Jon Davison purposely didn’t film one crucial scene: Officer Murphy’s death. When production wrapped, they went back to Los Angeles and ‘grimly’ informed the execs that Murphy’s death hadn’t been filmed. So the execs gave them more money and they filmed the scene in a warehouse in Los Angeles.
The standard Copyright notice at the end of RoboCop includes a warning that “This motion picture is protected under the laws of the United States and other countries and its unauthorized duplication, distribution or exhibition may result in civil liability and criminal prosecution by enforcement droids.
A little mix of everything, just click on either the links or the pictures to be teleported away.

I truly laughed out loud when Ms Abyss came along and posted this guestblog about trying to teach a geeky computer nerd (her words) how to fish.
”I handed him my favorite fly rod. He slowly got the gist of it and at some point stopped listening to me. He waded into the water up to his ankles. I stressed with urgency the danger of the Unicorn’s extremely slippery rocks. Did I mention he stopped listening to me???”

Sorry girls but there are some great videos here, the number one spot by Goodyear was really bad though but I love the Panam ‘Fly Maggie’ ad. So would have gone on that airline.

This pinup is so cool with animated effects. Check it out at Cool Berman.
I do love Johnny Depp and ‘Fear and loathing…’ was just spectacular, so seeing that the Rum Diary is coming out is making me weak in my knees.
